In this 4-hour introductory class, you'll gain hands-on experience with the machines in the ADX wood shop including the table saw, band saw, jointer, planer, chop saw, radial arm saw and belt sander while focusing on all aspects of shop safety. This class is intended for the true beginner or anyone wanting to brush up on her shop skills. In addition to learning how to use the wood shop tools, you'll learn about lumberyard jargon and the properties of wood as a building material.
At $160, it includes all materials and safety gear. Wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and make sure to tie back your hair! Our instructor, Alyssa Hursh, is a talented local fabricator ready to show you the ropes.
